The property search, or flat hunting, business is regulated by law N° 70-9 dated January 2, 1970, under the name Hoguet law, the name of its creator. This law regulates the real estate industry, including the flat hunting sector. Property search professionals are required to have a professional license as administered by the Police in that region.
This license is a guarantee that the flat hunter posses the knowledge, competence and insurance to operate in the sector. You are not permitted to conduct such activities without a professional license. The license number must appear on all corporate documents.

Property Search has a financial guaranty for amounts up to 120.000 €. The guaranty was issued by the Caisse de Garantie of the National Federation of Realtors or FNAIM, the licensing agency for the real estate profession. Paris Property Search is authorized to receive and hold funds in escrow.
